About Capacity

Capacity – Justice Empowerment Mercy is a volunteer organisation established in Australia and working in Thailand. Our central office in Thailand is located in Chiang Mai. We work directly with community groups in Northern Thailand to implement community capacity building projects.

The Capacity team dialogues with community members to identify projects; define project parameters; write proposals, submit for funding via partner NGOs; implement; evaluate; and report.

Capacity seeks to build relationships that are characterised by initial and ongoing ‘dialogue and response’ between communities and the project team to facilitate self direction and self reliance, realisation of human rights for all community members, improvements in public health and recognition of the history and culture of the people groups receiving assistance
